Poetry’s confusing
I just thought I’d say
And I don’t understand
The readings for today
Poetry’s a subject
For which you need a guide
Because when read alone
The meaning, it can hide
Now you’ve been subjected
To some bad poetry
And although it is short
This ends the post from me!
P.S.(I would like to claim last weeks post as my free one, if that is acceptable)

ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful and clever! I love how you took our subject matter and turned it into a witty and fun post! Great job...and I agree that poetry can sometimes be very confusing!
ReplyDeleteHaha, impressive, Alisha - truly.
ReplyDeleteI tend to wonder myself - did poets really know what they were talking about? Many of them seem to be complete nuts who probably would not have gotten much acclaim while they were still alive (for example, the alleged drugginess of Coleridge). That always makes me feel a lot better when I feel like my work is abstract and second-rate. Maybe someday, some scholar will attach a truly profound meaning to it and I'll get off easy. :)
