For this blog I thought I’d elaborate a little on a statement I made in class on Thursday. I want to say what I think everyone, whether they realize it or not, wants in a leader. I think the number one quality is for them to be able, for them to have the ability to lead with effectiveness and kindness. The leader should always be able to put themselves in the shoes of their constituents and make decisions in their best interest. The leader should know in detail the lifestyles, struggles, and successes of the people they rule and be able to consider their conditions when making any and every decision that could even slightly affect them. A good leader should care. An ideal leader hurts when his or her people are suffering. An ideal leader doesn’t settle. He or she doesn’t back down from what he or she believes to be right, and an ideal leader fights for his or her people. An actual ideal leader should have many more characteristics, but these are some basics. I also believe that every person wants a leader like this to rule or govern them. Everyone wants someone who truly cares about them and tries to help them. Success is always a positive, but if a leader such as this exists, I believe the people will still be satisfied.
