Description: The UM Uprising blog is a place for our class (ENH 211 sections 01 and 02) to express our ideas and respond to both class discussions and assigned readings. This is an opportunity for you to grow as a writer, thinker, and collaborator. Your blogs will count as a percentage of your final grade in this course. You will be responsible for the outcome of your grade. It is an easy assignment and a great way to earn an “A.”
Expectations: As a member of the University of Mobile Honors Program, you are expected to set an example in academic excellence. This should be reflected in the content and quality of each of your blog posts.
- You will post on the UM Uprising blog once a week beginning this Tues., Aug. 18.
- Weekly blogs are due at the beginning of class every Tuesday (this means that your first blog is due by 11:00 a.m. on Tues., Aug. 25). You will not receive credit for a post that is past 11:00 a.m. on a Tuesday. You will not have to post over holidays (unfortunately, this excludes hurricanes).
- You will also read and comment on one other person’s blog from that week. You must do this once a week, every week. Comments do not have to be lengthy, but should have substance. You may choose to agree or disagree with someone’s post, but you must be able to defend your personal opinion on the matter. You should comment on different people’s posts. Do not choose the same person every time.

We, as an Honors Council, are here to serve you in any way possible. Please do not hesitate to ask any member of the Council any question you may have (no matter how silly it may seem at the time - we have all been there!).

ReplyDeleteBut my post is actually this...
CHOICES...
I think if Candide had just forgotten about Cunegonde he might have been a little better off. Yeah, I believe God is an all knowing God but he also gave us the right to choose. It's kind of like a game show and you have to pick one of the three doors. You outcome depends on the door you choose. If you choose the right door then you move on to the next round. But if you choose the wrong door you suffer the consequences. But God will sometimes bring you back to the same place and see if you choose the right one.
Like when he was in Eldorado. He couldv'e stayed and been happy, but instead he wanted to force someone in his life that probably was'nt suppose to be in it.
I think a lot of people these days do that. They want something so bad they suffer in hopes they get it and when they finally do they find out it was'nt what they thought it was.
